Prof. João Cordeiro, form the Faculties of Creative Industries, went to Copenhagen on 8 April to present his latest research/artistic project at EvoMUSART, a conference on Evolutionary and Biology Computation in Music and Art.

His project, called FuXI, a Fish-Driven Instrument for Real-time Music Performance, allows the users to perform electroacoustic music and live visuals utilising the behaviour of a live fish inside an aquarium as a trigger for sounds and images. This project was developed in collaboration with the Institute of Science and Environment in USJ, which has developed extensive work on fish behaviour.

Prof. Cordeiro will be performing live with this instrument on 17 April 2015, in the Macau Art Museum, as part of the cultural program of a symposium on Creative Industries organised by the Faculty of Creative Industries (http://fci-symposium.cf).
