The USJ Debate Society has just participated the 3rd Novice Cup Debate Tournament 2017 during February 18 to February 19 in University of Macau. Novice Cup is held in the University of Macau, for individuals new to debate. There are 36 teams in total, coming from different universities in Macau, Hong Kong, and China.

From University of Saint Joseph, we had sent 3 teams composing of 6 people. Even though we could not break into the semi-finals since most of the participants are new and the Novice Cup is the first competition they have participated in. However, all the participants had learned a lot of knowledgable experience, and will use this experience to improve their skills and prepare for future tournaments, incorporating what they had learned into their debate career. We will promise our best efforts in the coming tournaments and events and we are very proud and honour to represent University of Saint Joseph.
