ISE Students and Staff Did Coastal Clean-Up and Gathered Samples in Coloane
On October 1st 2019, ISE Students and Staff volunteered to do a Mini Coastal Clean-Up and Gathered Sand Samples and Data in Coloane
Students and staff of the Institute of Science and Environment of the University of Saint Joseph braved the midday scorching heat of the sun, on October 1st, to collect sand samples from one of the beaches in Coloane for quantification of microplastics.
Not only that, they also volunteered to do a mini coastal clean-up and gathered data on the types of litter found on the beach.
The activity is an important part of their Science modules but also enables them to make the connection about their personal consumption and the litter they see on the beach.
