科學及環境研究所

現代社會正面臨著由人口急劇增長、城市化和全球財富增長等引起的重大環境、社會、經濟和健康挑戰。這些問題對位於高度工業化的珠江三角洲地區下游、世界人口稠密地區之一的澳門尤為重要。克服這些挑戰需要社會各階層的協調努力。需要特別指出的是，科學技術的進步似乎是成功過渡到可持續發展及更健康的社會的根本手段。

科學及環境研究所（ISE）的宗旨是在包括生物、環境科學、海洋與地球科學等不同的科學領域內發展高標準的教學和科研水平。我們希望通過健全的科學方法促進對自然世界的深入瞭解，為未來全球面對的挑戰培養專業人才，並引領澳門邁向可持續發展。

同時，研究所還把重點放在科學傳播和教育上，因為我們認為，適當的科學技術教育是公民作出負責決策的基礎，亦是最終社會進步的基礎。本研究所定期舉辦面向公眾和各級學生的科學和環境教育活動。

我們的學生有機會在國際化和跨學科的環境中培養他們的技能，培養批判性和創造性思維。我們提供充滿活力且具吸引力的學習環境，使學生能够發展成為技能熟練的專業人員和負責任的公民。
