Short Bio

Ms. Jamie Sun was born in China. She is a native speaker of Mandarin and has been teaching Mandarin at USJ since 2009. 

She graduated from Shanghai JiaoTong University in 1988. In 1997, she immigrated to New Zealand where she taught foreigners Mandarin and earned her Master degree in Business Administration. She is currently completing her second Master degree in International Chinese Language Education in Jinan University in Guangzhou.

She has rich teaching experiences in different places: ten years in Shenzhen, China, nine years in Macau and five years in New Zealand. She has taught Mandarin at the Macau Millennium College as a lecturer for five years before she came to USJ. She has a great passion for teaching and adopts various practical teaching methods. Students are encouraged to develop their Mandarin skills through class interactions with specific focus on improving their communication skills. In addition to teaching, she has run an Advertising company in Shenzhen, China.  

Jamie is friendly, enthusiastic and open-minded. Her favourite pastimes are travelling, reading and chatting with friends.  Her philosophy is happy every day.
