On April 9, 2021, Prof. Vitor Teixeira participated in the XXXI Internation Scientific Conference organised by ACISE and affiliated of the IFCU to present the study made with Prof. Michael Lai on “The use of robotics in the intervention with children with ASD: A pilot study with Milo”.



On April 9, 2021, Prof. Vitor Teixeira, Head of the Department of Psychology of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Education (FSSE) of the University of Saint Joseph (USJ), participated in the XXXI Internation Scientific Conference organized by the Association of Catholic Institutes of Education (ACISE) and affiliated of the International Federation of Catholic Universities (IFCU) to present the study made with Prof. Michael Lai, Coordinator for the Master of Social Work Programme, on “The use of robotics in the intervention with children with ASD: A pilot study with Milo”.

The main theme of the conference was “Integral Education in the Digital Era” and this communication was made in a session related to the “Special Educational Needs and New Technologies”. With this pilot study made in a partnership with the Macao Science Center and the Macau Autism Association, it was possible to identify limitations and strengths and some recommendations were made to conduct future research and to use Milo as a tool for educational and psychosocial intervention with children with ASD in Macao.
