The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) officially joined hands with Macau For Waste Reduction in hosting a Recycling Event last Saturday, 12th of December 2020, aimed to promoting clean recycling in Macau.
The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) officially joined hands with Macau For Waste Reduction in hosting a Recycling Event last Saturday, 12th of December 2020, aimed to promoting clean recycling in Macau.
The Recycling Event took place in the Ilha Verde Campus and received a positive outcome from the local community. Participants were taught how to separate different types of plastics with different labels (PET 1, HDPE 2, LDPE4 and PP5) and how to sort papers and metals.
The volunteers from Macau for Waste Reduction group and USJ staff assisted in briefing the participants about correct recycling , hoping that they would regularly bring clean recyclables to the stations and practice correct recycling independently at home.
It was a successfully beginning and USJ hopes to receive more participants next month and continue to promote best practices for a more sustainable and waste-free planet.
