DLCRE successfully concluded its series of Public Lectures on "A spotlight on what works in education"

The third of three Public lectures organised by the Domingos Lam Centre for Research in Education and delivered by Prof. Keith Morrison on “A spotlight on what works in education”, was held on the 17th of November 2020.



The third lecture of the public lecture series titled “A spotlight on what works in education” was successfully held on the 17th of November 2020. Students, alumni, academics and researchers from Macao and overseas attended face-to-face or online the series of Public Lectures, organised by the Domingos Lam Centre for Research in Education (DLCRE).

The three public lectures, titled “Randomized controlled trials in educational research and practice”, “Replication studies in educational research and practice”, and “Getting research evidence in educational practice”, respectively, were delivered by Professor Keith Morrison and moderated by Professor Ana Correia, the Director of the DLCRE.

Professor Keith Morrison is the author of 18 books and the Co-editor of the international peer-reviewed journal Educational Research and Evaluation. He has published more than 15 book chapters, and is well published in peer reviewed academic journals and other educational publications. 

Among his books are Research Methods in Education, currently in its 8th edition, Causation in Educational ResearchManaging Complex Change in SchoolSchool Leadership and Complexity TheoryManagement Theories for Educational ChangeImplementing Cross-curricular Themes; and A Guide to Teaching Practice, with several editions. Taming randomized controlled trials in education, published by Routledge earlier this year, served as the basis for Professor Keith Morrison Public Lectures.  

The DLCRE was created in the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) in 2019. The Centre seeks to promote and sustain the development of research in education, to link research and educational practice, policy making, decision making and action, to disseminate the results of research through a range of channels, and to be a resource for educational research findings and their dissemination.
