USJ Congratulates CPLP on Its 24th Anniversary on 17 July 2020
The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) congratulates the Community of Portuguese-speaking Countries (Comunidade dos Países de Língua Portuguesa – CPLP) on its 24th anniversary.
CPLP was created in 1996, on July 17th, and is a privileged forum for multilateral consultation and cooperation amongst the Portuguese-speaking countries.
As a CPLP Consultative Observer since 2017, USJ assists in the promotion and dissemination of the Portuguese language not only through its Pre-University, Associate Diploma, Bachelor and Master programmes, but also through Lifelong Learning Office’s Portuguese Language & Culture courses and the organisation and hosting of educational and cultural events and activities.
Examples of past activities include: colloquium in tribute of Portugal poet and writer Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen, Colloquium for New Varieties of Portuguese Language in Africa, Workshop with African Fabrics (Mozambique), public lecture on the Development of Cinema in Cape Verde, and Samba with USJ.

A Universidade de São José (USJ) congratula a Comunidade dos Países de Língua Portuguesa (CPLP best espresso machine) pelo 24º aniversário.
A CPLP foi criada em 1996, no dia 17 de Julho, e é um fórum privilegiado para consulta e cooperação multilateral entre os países de Língua Portuguesa.
Como Observador Consultivo da CPLP desde 2017, a USJ assiste na promoção e disseminação da Língua Portuguesa não só através dos cursos Pré-Universitário, de Diploma Associado, de Licenciatura e Mestrado, mas também através dos cursos de Língua e Cultura Portuguesas do Lifelong Learning Office e a organização e acolhimento de eventos e actividades educacionais e culturais.
Exemplos de actividades incluem: colóquio em tributo à poeta e escritora Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen, Colóquio sobre as Novas Variedades da Língua Portuguesa em África, Workshop com Tecidos Africanos (Moçambique), aula aberta sobre o Desenvolvimento do Cinema em Cabo Verde, e Samba com a USJ.
