Short Bio

Duncan Miers was educated in Hong Kong (China), New Zealand, India and Australia; studying Linguistics, Asian languages, Intercultural Studies and Environmental Science. He holds Cambridge CELTA certification and IELTS teacher training and is a versatile educator and researcher having taught on a Himalayan mountain top and worked in Antarctica.

Duncan has experience in tertiary and secondary education, in a wide range of contexts across the Asia-Pacific. He has taught General and Academic English, Literature and Exam techniques (IELTS, ToEFL, Cambridge IGCSE, AS and A levels). He is willing to help with any kind of language related challenge. His specific areas of research interest include: Language Acquisition Skills, Interlanguage, Oral and Corpus Linguistics.

When he is not teaching, Duncan is a history buff, enjoys exploring the outdoors and always loves eating curry or dim sum with company.
