ABOUT THE TALK

This presentation encapsulates top strategic technology trends and transformation strongly influencing the marketing business like visual search, the future of advertising outside of media, urban sensors, data mining bio signals, personalized environments, social visualization and the future of retail (the future of search engine marketing, mixed reality, heat mapping). This will be followed with explanation of recent movements of de-teching i.e. digital detox trends. The talk also highlights the need for real solutions – toget inside the real situation and measure real value as it is happening. The last part of the presentation explores human-computer interaction and affective computing, i.e. machines, systems or algorithms dealing with human emotions – all leading towards the Internet of Emotionsthat is putting the person back into personalisation.

 

ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Professor Luiz Moutinho (BA, MA, PhD, FCIM) is Visiting Professor of Marketing at Suffolk Business School, Faculty of Arts, Business and Applied Social Science, Univeristy of Suffolk, Ipswich, England, Adjunct Professor of Marketing at Graduate School of Business, University of the South Pacific, Suva, Fiji, and Visiting Professor of Marketing at Universidade Europeia and the Marketing School, Portugal.

During 2015-2017 he was professor of BioMarketing and Futures Research at the DCU Business School, Dublin City University, Ireland. For 20 years, he has been appointed as the Foundation Chair of Marketing at the Adam Smith Business School, University of Glasgow, Scotland.

His areas of research encompass bio-marketing, neuroscience in marketing, EmoWear – a wearable tech device that detects human emotions, evolutionary algorithms, human-computer interaction, the use of artificial neural network sin marketing, modelling consumer behaviour, futures research, marketing furute cast and tourism and marketing.

Professor Moutinho has over 150 articles published in referred academic journals, 34 books and more than 10,800 academic citations, a h-indeks of 49 and an i10-index of 156 (by the end of 2017).
