Liberal Arts
In contemporary society, education should do more than just satisfy the need for economic development. Education should transmit culture, develop dimensions of life and enhance the quality of life. Liberal arts broaden the horizons and knowledge of learners, and develop their creative thinking.
The School for Lifelong Learning has a strong tradition in areas such as arts, the humanities and languages. Based on this tradition, the Liberal Arts Programs has the mission of developing courses in these areas and promoting whole-person development and lifelong learning.
Liberal Arts courses include: Languages, Calligraphy, Fine art, Chinese painting, music, philosophy, culture, religion, science, environment, politics, sociology, psychology and health care.
Education in the creative arts can promote learners' artistic lives and spirits, and widen their imaginations. Furthermore, we must learn to appreciate not only our owe culture, but a diverse international mosaic of cultures both beneficial for learners in their work place, personal development and life cultivation. sense of appreciation and lifestyle.
The Creative Arts and Culture Program provides a wide range of courses in this area, including design, photography, creative media, film, drama, art, music and dance.
Management
"Management" is no longer a term reserved for managerial roles in business organizations. All members of the organization manage and there are increasing numbers of subject experts who need to manage people. Public organizations and NGOs are even more in need of management skills because of the growing complexity of the political and economic environments.
It is the attitude that makes a difference. People who dare to make decisions, who dare to delegate and who dare to be held accountable for results are much more likely to succeed. This is the “Attitude of Success!”
Management Program offers a diversity of programs including those in areas such as business and marketing, accounting and finance, HR Management for NGOs, blue ocean strategy, crisis management and social sciences.
"Professional Development and Certification" is the responsibility of both employers and employees. The Professional Development and Certification program holds two major keys to career success in this respect: Professional Certification and Corporate training.
These can take the form of either preparatory courses or award bearing programs. Besides we offer professional development programs, especially in the areas of Education; Food Safety; Environmental Science and Quantitative Analysis, for professionals who aim to have career advancement in their own fields.
We have long known the importance of training as a staff development tool. We serve employers through providing professional training that caters to the basic yet important learning principles of needs-based pre-training assessment, well-suited in-training practices and tailored post-training interventions.
Learning is no longer a privilege of the young generation and age is not an obstacle to learning. The mission of the Advanced Development Program is thus to provide quality programs and courses to learners regardless of their age, educational background and occupation. Except for a few programs with specific entry requirements, courses provided by the Advanced Development Academy are open to all.
Many retired professionals, through both their educational backgrounds and accumulated experience, have a wide range of interests. Hence, courses offered by the Advanced Development Program are designed to engage people interested in the pursuit of learning for its own sake. The courses offered cover such areas as Traditional Chinese Medicine and health care, art, calligraphy, music, wealth management, ecotourism, culture, philosophy and even information technology. The Advanced Development Program is committed to contributing to the community and enabling senior citizens to live healthy, happy and fruitful lives.
