Fr. Franz Gassner participated in the 5th World Conference on Sinology and has given a talk at the Renmin University campus in Beijing.
Fr. Franz Gassner was invited to participate in the 5th World Conference on Sinology on 11th and 12th November 2016. The conference was held by the Renmin University of China and the Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban) at the Renmin University campus in Beijing.
During the conference, Fr. Gassner has given a talk in the Panel “Sinology and Western Learning”. His topic is “Nature, Secularity, and the Emergence of Modern Science in Medieval Europe: Judeo-Christian Contributions”. The lecture intends to focus on one specific aspect within the emergence of universities and modern sciences in medieval Europe as well as the revolutionary Judeo-Christian world-view in 11th to 13th century Europe.
