Short Bio

Mr. Jerry Tsu (Tsu, Hsin Jen) was born in Taiwan.  He is a native speaker of Mandarin. He has been teaching Mandarin at USJ since 2007. He graduated from National Taiwan Normal University in 1994. He has a Master's degree of Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages in Jinan University in Guangzhou. He had over ten-year working experience in Taiwan. He was a secondary school teacher, a tuba and sousaphone player in a national military band under two-year compulsory military service and an administrative manager in a management consulting company. He adopts Task-based Language Learning Pedagogy in his teaching.  By using multimedia materials as tools, various tasks and activities relevant to real-life situations are applied into the Mandarin programme.  Students are encouraged to develop Mandarin skills through task interactions and to learn Mandarin for communication purpose. Travels, reading, playing the clarinet and listening to music are all his favorite hobbies.
