Communication and Media Students from University of Saint Joseph’s Faculty of Creative Industries will be exhibiting their work at the Galery Fra Angelico, Saint Paul School, from April 13 to May 8, visiting time 9 am to 6 pm.

This exhibition includes Photography, Graphic Design, Animation, Video Production and Radio Production.

The myriad of media formats presented in this event reflects the multidisciplinary approach followed in the Communication and Media Bachelor program, which was reinforced upon its inclusion in the Faculty of Creative Industries.

According to USJ organizer and program coordinator, professor José Manuel Simões, “this exhibition demonstrates the technical and practical topics covered by the BCM program, ranging from audiovisual production to digital publishing techniques, reflecting upon the entire range of modern platforms. The main focus of our program is on how people use messages to generate meanings placing our students at the forefront of contemporary information society. Like we can observe at the exhibition, we prepare students with a solid foundation in learning, exploring existence, as well as the function of using different fields and gaining expertise in advanced tools. Our program is taught by Professors with excellent international reputation that will give the students the opportunity to develop their creative potential in an international and interdisciplinary environment. The students produce a variety of digital media artefacts and develop tools for reflection upon their professional creative identity. Above all this bachelor combines both supportive scholars, multicultural environment, an enduring sense of community, and a state-of-the-art ability development in order to build up a personal sense of academic identity which is life-long standing”.

The exhibition is open until May 8 and can be visited everyday, except Sundays, from 9 am to 6 pm. Admission is free for all visitors.

The venue – Galery Fra Angelico, Saint Paul School – located at Rampa dos Cavaleiros, n.12/14. Information – 28519364.

Refreshments will be served during the opening session, scheduled for April 13th at 10.30 am.
